
However, chairman Bill Kenwright insists no deal for the 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan at AC Milan, has been finalised.
The Swiss Football Federation claimed on Monday evening that Senderos had agreed to move to Goodison Park.
However, Kenwright told the Toffees' official website: "We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe.
"Nothing has been concluded yet but talks are ongoing."
Senderos joined the Gunners from Servette five years ago and has featured in more than 100 first-team games for Arsene Wenger's side.
During his season-long loan spell at the San Siro, the defender played 19 matches for the Rossoneri.
