Cesc Fabregas remain for Arsenal believes Arsene Wenger
Arsene Wenger has categorically ruled out the possibility of Cesc Fabregas leaving Arsenal for Barcelona this summer. The Gunners boss has, on several occasions in the past, denied reports linking the Spain international midfielder with a return to his boyhood club. But on the eve of the new Premier League season and following a fresh wave of reports in recent days linking Fabregas with a £45million move to the European champions, Wenger has issued a firm denial. "Do you really think we sell now our players one day before the championship starts, players who are basic players of the team? There is no chance," he declared. "You cannot stop people from having a lot of creative imagination during their sleepless nights, but that does not mean we will do it." Meanwhile, Wenger has again insisted that he is not close to completing any moves to bolster his own squad. "If we need to add one or two more, the transfer period is open until August 31," he added. "Ideally you want not to move any more, but you always have to adjust. If there is a need there, we will do it."
